When it debuted in 1993, the very first Honda Passport was actually built in partnership with Isuzu Motors. The first Passport was a great Sport Utility Vehicle, however, it was replaced by the Honda-designed Pilot in ’02. The name was unused until the 3rd Gen Passport was revealed at the LA Auto Show in ’18. We understand that United States consumers want SUVs and we desired an SUV that was bigger and much more capable than the CR-V but not quite as big as the Pilot. The 2019 Honda Passport is our midsize SUV that is larger than you think. Let’s take a look at the brand-new Honda Passport.

Performance Highlights

The one thing you may notice is that the new Passport looks extremely similar to the Pilot. Actually, it’s not just the looks, as the Pilot and Passport share lots of parts, the first is the engine. The Passport is powered by a 3.5L 24-Valve V6 that generates 280hp and 262 lb-ft. Torque. The ’19 Honda Passport is strong and efficient.

Design Highlights

The new Passport has been created for the buyer that is more adventure-oriented. It features more ground clearance than the Pilot, standard 20-inch wheels, LED low-beam headlamps, LED fog lights, LED brake lights, and seating for five. Rain-sensing wipers, Hands-Free Power Tailgate, and Parking Sensors are just a few of the optional items on the brand-new Honda Passport. Slip inside the tough Passport and you’ll see optional features like an 8-inch touchscreen stereo, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, perforated, heated and cooled front seating, and a wireless phone charging capability. The 2019 Honda Passport is both rugged and comfortable.

The new Honda Passport is just filled with tech varying from convenience items like mobile hotspot capability, ambient LED lighting, and NAV with Voice Recognition to the remarkable Honda Sensing Suite of safety innovations. Honda Sensing is fitted on every new Passport and features modern technology like Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. The only true upgradeable driver-assist technology is the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor. The ’19 Passport is filled with modern technology to keep you and your family members safe and secure.
